Your German players can tell your CRM was translated
I have spent seven years running CRM for German casino and sportsbook players, in the regulated market and outside it. Most operators treat Germany as a translation problem. It isn't, and that's usually where the retention goes.

+20%
More reactivated players, an all-time high across several brands
+50%
More first deposits on individual brands after onboarding was rebuilt
100+
Brands across 20 markets under my oversight

Years in DACH iGaming: Kindred, ComeOn, Soft2Bet
What I find in almost every DACH programme
The copy was written in English first.
Then translated. German players pick this up immediately. The tone is slightly off, the sportsbook terms are not the ones people actually use, and every brand ends up sounding the same.
The flows came from another market.
They were built somewhere without a €1 stake cap, without deposit limits, without OASIS. They get moved to Germany, they underperform, and everyone decides Germany doesn't work. Usually the flow doesn't work.
Early life gets ignored.
Registration to first deposit is where German cohorts are won or lost. It is normally the least touched part of the journey.
Nobody owns it.
Brand teams run their own calendars, central marketing runs campaigns, and none of it connects. No shared segmentation, no naming conventions, no way to tell what actually worked.
The 2027 licence cycle is being decided now
Germany's review of the 2021 Interstate Treaty is running this year and a new licensing cycle starts in 2027. The operators who do well in DACH from 2027 will be the ones who fixed their retention before the decision landed.
Regulated share sits around 77% and the market grew in 2024. It is not a dying market. It is a hard one, and hard markets pay for people who already worked out what works inside the constraints.

Who you would be working with
I'm German, I live in Malta, and I have spent eleven years in iGaming. Customer support and fraud analysis at Kindred, then German CRM for casino and sportsbook at ComeOn through the worst years of re-regulation, then a regional team of around ten managers at Soft2Bet covering 20 markets, then Head of CRM building a central function from scratch.
Before that I played poker professionally for eight years. That is where the habit of arguing with your own numbers came from.
I work with licensed and offshore operators. I am a CRM and content specialist, not a compliance advisor. If you need licensing counsel, get a lawyer.
Start with a call
Thirty minutes, no deck. Tell me what your German numbers look like and I will tell you where I would look first. If there is nothing there, I will say so.
